Spontaneous works on paper, instinctive and raw, exploring the colour of crimson. In these works Katja Wittmer uses various textures, colour themes and patterns in an intuitive way, being entirely led by her subconscious. This work is on 20 x 25 cm museum quality acrylic paper with white border.
In her mixed media works, Katja Wittmer creates colour compositions that invite to curiously explore beyond what is apparent at first glance.
Katja’s technique incorporates dripping paint, thick textures and multi-layered colours. She uses these materials to create many layers, covering and uncovering, offering a glimpse into what lingers underneath. Using this technique she creates unique works of abstract expressionism which challenge the boundaries of perception.
