Elemental VIII- Earth, water and air showing a unique dynamic interplay of shape, movement and colour.
 
In her recent series ‘Elemental’ Katja Wittmer has been incorporating sand, plaster, pastels and acrylics into her paintings to convey the connection to the four elements, focusing on the different dynamics of each element- water, earth, air and fire.Her technique incorporates dripping paint, thick textures and multi-layered colours. Katja Wittmer uses these materials to create many layers, covering and uncovering, offering a glimpse into what lingers underneath.
